Yesterday was an overfilled day! You know the kind of day where your to-do list is long and everything on it HAS to get done that day? I finally completed the last thing on my list that had to be done at around 10:30 p.m. and promptly fell into bed exhausted!
Today, after a morning Bible class with a friend online, hubby asked if I wanted to go on an outing. Feeling like I could really use a break from my 'to-do' list I said, 'sure!'
First stop was at a Mercantile Mall type store where there were individual booths of handcrafted goodies. I picked up these earrings to look at, he saw me and asked if I liked them. I said yes, and he said, 'get them!' He used his personal money and bought them for me!
Next, he took me to a somewhat local real-life vineyard that does a 3 1/2-mile drive through light show every year during the holidays. They also have a restaurant on site, and he took me out to eat there while we waited for it to get dark enough for the light show to begin!
For 3 1/2-miles we drove through the vineyard turned light show, with our lights off (everyone had to turn their vehicle lights off), looking at scene after scene of Christmas lights. It was just beautiful!
It was just the kind of day I needed after having a day like I had yesterday!
My husband is amazing and I'm so thankful that we've put the work into our marriage to make it what it is today. He knows when I need a change of scenery!
That's all for Blogmas days 16 & 17 ... I'll meet you back here tomorrow for day 18 of Blogmas 2024!
